In the 1990s, an evangelistic ministry in a mainly Muslim country was established with just a handful of people. I joined this organization based in a major city, and helped to further the gospel of Jesus Christ. We now have 73 pastors and 30 churches throughout the region! Despite the challenges of terrorism, persecution and funding, God makes a way for His Gospel to be preached. One of our programs is to care for and educate orphaned and vulnerable children and to provide women a way to support themselves financially through sewing centers. This is how we established a connection with Moms In Touch International.
Approaching November 14, our team had worked hard to arrange the Arise! Cry Out! event. We wanted to hold the meeting in one location so that everyone could be together in the same place, but finances were a problem so we planned meetings in the women's villages. Mothers and their children gathered in the various locations. More than forty women attended each meeting throughout the region, with a total of approximately 300 people. They prayed for their children, their families and the leadership and schools in this country.
Next on the horizon will be translation efforts and training. I have been working with Moms In Touch to translate the MITI Booklet into our native language. This will be a great help to the women's ministry leader at our church who is learning the MITI four steps of prayer, praying scripturally and in one accord, so that she can train the 17 groups throughout the area to pray for their children and schools.
Please pray for us that God:
- will move in the hearts of moms to accept Jesus Christ and have a desire to pray.
- will protect our congregations, our children and MITI moms.
- will comfort the hurting children and mothers.
- will supply the resources for schools and other programs to help women
- will provide the funds for travel, printing of booklets, etc., to spread Moms In Touch
